Manitoulin's Island's backroads are a cyclist's dream come true. Rent a bike from Canadian Yacht Charters, and check out the breathtaking views and meandering roads with very little traffic to be found. Grab an Island map (there are many available), and hit the backroads. Most are hard surfaced, and good for riding. Try to avoid Hwy 6 & 540 as they have more traffic. Be sure to allow ferry traffic to pass if riding on Hwy 6, and watch for slow moving vehicles, logging trucks and the cattle drives. For information call Manitoulin Tourism.
