Manitoulin Island's backroads are a cyclist's dream come true. Breathtaking views, meandering roads with very little traffic to be found. Grab a Manitoulin Island cycling map (available at tourist information centres or Maja's in Mindemoya), and hit the backroads. Most are hard surfaced, and good for riding. Try to avoid Hwy 6 & 540 as they have more traffic. Be sure to allow ferry traffic to pass if riding on Hwy 6, and watch for slow moving vehicles, logging trucks and the cattle drives.
